A Better Room for Smaller, Private Events

Most event spaces optimize for capacity. Resident is better for rooms where the quality of the conversation matters. The Library Room works well for events that need intimacy, focus, and a more considered setting than a restaurant back room or “soulless” coworking space. It gives your guests space to listen, talk, meet, and stay present.

Built for Events That Need Conversation
The Library Room is a lounge-style event space inside Resident’s Flatiron location. It’s comfortable enough for casual conversation, but structured enough for programming, talks, and group sessions.
The space includes:
- Lounge seating
- Music
- Microphones
- Presentation-friendly layout
- Warm room setup
- Hospitality support for small details
Events should start no later than 6:30 PM since building doors close at 6:45 PM. However, you can have a later start time as long as you have a person to greet guests in the lobby.
Host Checklist

Resident provides the room, the setting, and support with small on-site details. Hosts are responsible for event-specific costs and supplies.
Hosts should plan for:
- Snacks or catering
- Non-alcoholic beverages
- Beer, wine and cocktails
- Cutlery
- Any event-specific materials
- Guest list management
- Cleanup of items brought into the space
However, if you require assistance with any of these items, we’re happy to offer it to you for an additional fee.
- Good fit
We’re a strong choice for small, curated events where guests are vetted and the room requires focus. It works well for founders, operators, investors, community hosts, and teams looking to fill the room with the right people.
- Bad fit
Resident isn't the right choice for large gatherings, birthday celebrations, high-volume ticketed events, late-night parties, or generic gatherings that don't require much thought to put together. Members at our space are highly curated, and so are the events that we host.
A venue holds people, but a good space does a bit more than that. Resident is set up so the room works in your favor. It's small enough to keep conversations close, and because everyone in our company club is focused on serious work, that energy is already in the air when your guests walk in.
